SUPPORT THE TROOPS?
This is going to be the most difficult, harsh, sad, but true piece I have ever written. Difficult because it's going to be a task to get most people to look past their hard-wired, almost reverent regard for our men and women in uniform. Harsh because the truth of this issue is not pretty, and talking about this will piss a lot of you off. Oh well. Sad because it's a realization we should have come to long ago and because of our present state of spinelessness haven't, and because it seems that we haven't learned a fucking thing from the past. And true because......well, it just is. And it will probably take you a few days to realize that it is. It did me, and now I don't quite know what to do with how I feel. It's kinda like I imagine someone feels when they've been told they have a terminal disease, and they get to that place of acceptance.
Just like you, I have been deluged with well meaning e-mails all saying "Support Our Troops" or "God Bless Our Troops", or whatever. And there are the ones with attachments or hyper-links to wonderfully made little films or picture presentations urging you and me to honor our fighting men and women by showing blue sky, Old Glory waving, soldier with Iraqi child, emotionally provoking images, with some Lee Greenwood "I'm Proud To Be An American" song playing in the background, all intended to play these soldiers up to be heros, and make us here at home forget about what is really going on. Well, I'm sorry, but I'm not buying it any longer. I haven't forgotten about the torture and murder of millions of innocent Iraqi and Afghan people in an illegal occupation, not a war, nor have I forgotten about the 937 lies and misrepresentations used by President[sic] Bush and Vice President[sic] Cheney and this administration, including the false flag events of 9/11, in order to get congress and you and me to approve the damn thing. We all know that this endless, immoral, and criminal occupation of another soveriegn nation has absolutely nothing to do with September 11, 2001, we know that it's not about Saddam Hussein and his Weapons of Mass Destruction, and we damn sure know it's not about protecting us against some plague of Islamic terrorists bent on destroying western democracy! If anyone still believes this war is about freedom or liberating a people from under the thumb of a tyrannical dictator I'd love to know where you have had your head for the last four or five years?!?! It can't smell very good if it has been where I think it's been! C'mon people, use your brains for something besides remembering who's winning "American Idol" and just think about where your prez and vice prez made their money. That's right! OIL! This illegal occupation and overthrow of Iraq, and the Middle East, is all about oil. I know it, you know it, the entire world knows it, and yet our 'heroic' troops, who also know it, are still obeying their CO's orders and killing people for private, personal gain of the Bush crime family and the Cheney industrial complex. This, my friends, is a war crime, and that's why I can no longer 'support our troops'! These men and women take an oath to defend and protect our constitution, included in that oath is a promise to question an order that he or she deems inappropriate or immoral, and to honorably refuse to carry out such an order. I haven't heard of any of these killing machines doing that, have you? No, I didn't think so. By following orders and participating in an illegal, immoral military operation such as the one in the middle east make 'our troops' just as guilty and liabel as the criminal administration that started this fiasco. Has everyone forgotten the lessons learned in Viet Nam???!!! Do you want to know what the soldiers who do feel they are committing a crime are doing instead of refusing to follow orders? THEY ARE COMMITTING SUICIDE! Over 120 veterans of this 'war' are killing themselves every week! The ones who aren't taking their own lives out of guilt and shame are turning up in the disgusting videos we see posted on YouTube everyday showing 'troops' throwing little dogs off cliffs, or something else just as pretty! Does this sound like the behavior of men and women who are at peace with what they're doing? HELL NO, IT DOESN"T!! Support the troops? No, fuck the troops! I cannot give my support or blessing to anyone who willingly goes along with something he or she knows is wrong just because they are either too scared, lazy, or enjoying themselves. Remember this, these are the people who can't find meaningful work after the military and become psycho cops.
By saying you support our troops you are really saying you support this 'war'. By supporting this war you are saying that you agree with thr policies of this criminal, fascist administration, and it's New World Order agenda. By supporting the NWO agend you are saying that you are in favor of the destruction of our soverignty and our democratic republic. This bullshit in Iraq is about nothing more than U.S. empire-building, fascism, and control of all of the worlds oil by a few sick and twisted reactionary statists who want nothing more than to see this great country and her once free people enslaved to serve their Neo-Con, NWO, One World Govt. visions. And by continuing to fight in a war that they know is about evil, by continuing to do harm when they know it's wrong, I won't be 'supporting our 'troops' anymore. They're not the sparkling, red white and blue patriotic heros you've been fooled into believing they are. They're criminals, just like their bosses, and their bosses, all the way up to the dickhead in the Whitehouse. Perhaps it is time to switch the TV off. Forget about "Idol", don't listen to O'Reilly on "The Factor", maybe, just maybe, it's time to wake up!
